Get Fast Abs for Dummies

By Quincy

While it’s impossible to get ripped abs overnight, it is possible to get a six pack stomach in a decent amount of time if you work at it. The problem is that you’re going to have to cut out a lot of your current habits out of your life. There is no simple “cheat” or quick-fix in order to get great abs, no matter what anyone says. However, it won’t be in the realm of impossibility if you follow these tips.

To begin with, you’re going to have to work out a bit in order to get your fast abs! I know that sounds obvious, but you’re going to have to work all of the areas around your abdominal region. The abs have many different regions, and working each of those is essential for firm abs. Some of the most effective exercises for your abs include the Captain’s Chair Leg Raise, an Exercise Ball Crunch, and a Vertical Leg Crunch.

Remember that you shouldn’t work out your abs everyday! If you do, you’re going to be putting a lot of strain on your abs. You need to give your body some time for it to recover from your strength training. If your abs get too sore, it may feel hard to move your entire upper body! (I’ve overworked my abs before… it wasn’t fun; don’t make the same mistake as me!)

However, before you go out and try some abdominal exercises, you’re going to have to consider what your body’s weaknesses are. If you’re already a pretty built person, then this doesn’t apply to you. But if you’re packing a few pounds or if you’re scrawny, then you’re going to have to follow some fitness programs in order to fix those weaknesses.

Why do you need to fix your body’s weak points? Well if you are a hardgainer, which is a person who has trouble keeping weight and building muscles, then you won’t even be able to build IMPRESSIVE abdominal muscles if you look like a scrawny stick figure! On the other hand, if you find that you have some fat on your belly, then it doesn’t matter how many crunches or abdominal exercises you do – your toned abs will be completely covered by your fat!

(If you’re a hardgainer, then read the next paragraph. If you need to lose fat, then skip the next paragraph.)

If you fit into the hardgainer category, then you’re going to have to follow a strict diet and weight training regimen. You’re going to have to work very hard if you want to look good. I mean that you’re going to have to eat a lot of healthy foods and do lots of lifting. Avoid eating junk food and unhealthy drinks like beer and soda; you need to eat healthy foods because they’ll give you a much needed energy boost. You also need to do lots of weight lifting so that your body retains your weight as muscles instead of fat. An intense regimen is required so that it’ll work out your entire physique (including the abdominals). One program that I recommend to hardgainers is Vince Delmonte’s No Nonsense Muscle Building book. He gears it towards skinny people who can’t gain muscles; he’ll show you various techniques and exercises, as well as a whole work out and meal plan that you can use for a year.

On the other hand, if you have some fat on you, then no one is going to see your six pack stomach until you get rid of that fat! You should be eating very healthy and your primary form of exercise should be cardio work. That means you’ll have to start doing things such as running, swimming, elliptical, and biking. If you do abdominal exercises while you have fat, then your stomach may appear slightly bigger. Therefore, when your body has a low fat percentage, you should begin to do more weight lifting (and abdominal exercises). If you’re looking for a program to burn fat and build up your muscles, then I recommend Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. It’s one of the best sellers out in the market. It will show you exactly what exercises you should be doing and what your diet should consist of in order to lose fat fast.

Most important of all is that you have to stay determined! As long as you keep at it, you’ll get it eventually. If you want those fast abs, you have to keep up a healthy diet as well as a strict training regimen. When someone sees you with those ripped abs, they’ll know that you’ve been taking great care of your body! A change in your lifestyle might be necessary, but it’ll be worth it for the results you’ll get in the end!
