Weight loss is usually a problem for people because of two major reasons. First of all, it’s because of the false information that they are constantly provided, most of which contradict each other and end up being completely false.
Secondly, there might be issues in a person’s mindset that can stop them from either changing their lifestyle to one that adjusts to their new diet or having the will power to say “No way!” when friends are trying to pressure them to go out.
Shedding fat doesn’t have to become a huge upheaval in your life. In fact, it’s much easier (and realistic) to set goals for yourself where you’re losing fat gradually over a longer time period than to change your lifestyle in a second.
Realistically, setting a goal of 2 pounds per week of weight loss is very good. You’ll be able to enjoy a healthy and tasty diet, while not having to be at the gym for hours on end.
If you want to have a constant 2 pounds per week fat loss (which is much easier than you would imagine), you’ll have to look at ways of improving your diet, exercise regimen, and detoxifying your system.
Healthy Diet
The foundations of a diet are more important here than anything else, especially when you’re new. Ensure that you are eating a lot of fruits and vegetables every week, and that you’re drinking at least 3-4 glasses of water per day. Avoid drinking fruit juices instead of water, because all of the sugar will add up quickly. Be sure to avoid eating foods loaded with sugar, and to substitute them with fruit snacks instead.
When you are cooking your meat and fish, do so in a non-stick frying pan so that you don’t have to use any cooking oil, and if you have a craving for chips or French fries, try to bake them in the oven or grill them to make them somewhat healthier.
One last important tip is to eat 5-6 small meal portions each day. The purpose of this is to keep your body from storing fat and sugars from your previous meals, and to just go ahead and burn it. This keeps your metabolism up and reduces your cravings for junk food.
Exercising
There are a lot of people that just hate the thought of exercising… but to be successful, exercise is ESSENTIAL! Luckily, you don’t have to become a gym rat in order to look good. Your minimum amount of exercise should 3 cardio sessions per week that last around 30 minutes each. You should be pushing yourself and feeling your heart race, not just walking around at a snail’s pace!
If you don’t have the time to head to the gym, think of ways to include some small exercises in your life. For example, instead of driving to a nearby store, take a brisk walk there instead.
You don’t have to go insane with your diet and exercise plans; you just need consistency. Stick to them and make them part of your life style, and you’ll easily see your pounds shed over time.
You’re going to be cutting out fatty snacks such as chips and chocolate, but you’ll see that if you follow an effective plan that fills your day with eating the correct foods (not all salads and fruit either!), then you’ll never have the urge to snack in the first place.
