What is Lean Hybrid Muscle Building?
Lean Hybrid Muscle Building is a new weight lifting program that tries to make a twist on the regular ways of weight lifting. It takes the best aspects of functional training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and cardiovascular training in order to make a workout that builds muscle and lets you lose fat simultaneously.

It manages to accomplish this task by focusing its sights on one of the lesser known muscle fibers in our bodies, the Type-III muscle fiber.

Chances are, you’ve probably heard of the other two types of muscle fibers in your body: The Type-I (slow twitch) and Type-II (fast twitch) fibers. The slow twitch fibers recover quicker and don’t get exhausted as easily as the fast twitch fibers, so training them helps your endurance. Fast twitch get tired fast, but they give you a large burst of power in a small amount of time (useful for powerlifters in competitions that only have to do 1 rep and also useful for fighters with quick strikes).

Now, we have the Type-III fibers. By combining weight training and cardio in a set together, you train your fast twitch muscles to endure more and not get exhausted as easily as before (in other words, you’re training to endure like slow twitch fibers). Technically, this would be called Type-IIC because it’s a hybrid of the Type-II muscle, but it has been nicknamed by the authors as Type-III to avoid confusion. By training your Type-III fibers, you’ll be able to build muscles and lose fat at the same time.

The reason that works is because of this: Type-I fibers have more mitochondrial density than Type-II, which makes them more efficient at burning fat for energy than Type-II. Type-II fibers are usually bigger fibers, but when we start training them like Type-I fibers, they’ll also start to have higher mitochondrial density like Type-I fibers. This results in your muscles becoming bigger in size and more efficient at turning fat into energy.

What results can you expect from Lean Hybrid Muscle?
My test candidate was able to lose 14% of his body fat in 3 months when he followed the book’s workout, but he had to do his own strict diet since there is minimal nutrition information in Lean Hybrid Muscle.

The workouts only require about 30-40 minutes per day for about 3 days each week. While there are exercises described in the book, if you want to see videos, you’ll have to go online to watch them.
